Firefox 130 released with auto Picture-in-Picture, Web Codecs API on desktop, and more

Mozilla has released Firefox version 130, bringing several new features and improvements. Users can now translate selected text portions after a full-page translation. The new Firefox Labs page in Settings allows easy access to experimental features, such as an AI Chatbot for the sidebar and a Picture-in-Picture auto-open experiment for active videos when switching tabs.

Linux users will notice overscroll animations enabled by default for scrollable areas. The WebCryptoAPI now supports Curve25519 primitives, and the Web Codecs API is enabled on desktop platforms for low-level access to audio and video encoders and decoders.

On Android, page load performance is enhanced by allowing more resources to be downloaded simultaneously, and a new password generator feature is available for creating strong, random passwords. Additionally, this update resolves an issue with the copy and paste context menu items not being enabled intermittently, includes updated translations, and brings other minor changes and bug fixes.
