Telegram enhances its in-app browser, adds 'Mini App Store', improves stories, and more

Telegram has rolled out a significant update, introducing a new in-app browser with multi-tab support and Web3 access. This feature allows users to collapse and reopen web pages from the bottom bar, facilitating seamless navigation between messages and websites. The browser supports decentralized websites hosted on TON across all mobile and desktop apps.

The update introduces an 'Apps' tab in search, showcasing a list of user-installed apps and popular mini apps. This tab enables quick access to games and services, and developers can now upload video demos and screenshots to preview their mini apps.

Mini apps can now generate custom story content, such as AI-generated videos and leaderboard snapshots, for users to share as Telegram stories. Additionally, the new Telegram Stars feature allows users to buy digital goods in mini apps or access paid content in channels, with the option to gift stars to contacts.

Other enhancements include the ability to use the front flash for video messages in low-light conditions, an animated weather widget for stories, and the option to select a cover photo frame for video stories posted to profiles.
