Proton expands privacy-focused writing assistant Proton Scribe to Family and Duo plans

Proton has expanded the availability of its privacy-first writing assistant, Proton Scribe, to subscribers with Family and Duo plans. Previously exclusive to Business and Visionary plans, this AI-powered tool is designed to help users compose and improve emails securely. Additionally, subscribers with Plus and Unlimited plans can now try Proton Scribe for free for 14 days.

Proton Scribe stands out by not logging or saving user prompts, not using data for training, and employing open-source code that can be inspected and run locally, ensuring data never leaves the user’s device. The tool's language support has also been enhanced to include English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Chinese, and Japanese.

Moreover, Proton has improved Scribe's integration with the email composer. Actions such as Proofread, Expand, or Shorten are now directly accessible within Proton Mail's composer, streamlining the process of refining email drafts.
