LM Studio 0.3.0 brings enhanced LLM capabilities, JSON-schema API, and much more
LM Studio has launched version 0.3.0, enhancing its capabilities as a cross-platform desktop application for discovering, downloading, and running local Large Language Models (LLMs). This update introduces built-in functionality to provide a set of documents to an LLM and ask questions about them, streamlining document analysis.
Significantly, LM Studio 0.3.0 now supports OpenAI's recently announced JSON-schema based API, enabling reliable JSON outputs with any local model running in the application. Users will find three new themes — Dark, Light, and Sepia — offering more visual customization options.
The software now autoconfigures based on the hardware it runs on, but also offers extensive manual configuration for advanced users. Additional features include viewing model load logs, configuring multiple LLMs for serving, and sharing an LLM over the network.
Language support has expanded, with the addition of Spanish, German, Russian, Turkish, and Norwegian, complementing the existing English and French options.
