Google Wallet adds 'Everything Else' section for storing more digital passes with AI help
Google has introduced a new feature in Google Wallet, allowing users to store a wider variety of digital passes in addition to the already supported payment cards, IDs, transit passes, loyalty cards, and gift cards. The latest update adds an "Everything else" section for items that don't fit these categories.
In this new section, users can add items like event tickets, gym memberships, and insurance cards by taking a photo. Google's AI then classifies and converts the information into a digital pass, making it easier to digitize physical passes. The AI also identifies sensitive data and converts it into a Private Pass for added security. While users can manually assign scanned passes, the AI is designed to handle this efficiently, with options to review and correct any fields.
To use this new feature, users must update their Wallet app to the latest version. The "Everything else" section is now available in the United States following an initial rollout earlier this month. If users encounter issues, they can navigate to Settings App info for Google Play services and select Force stop to resolve them.
