openSUSE has rolled out its monthly update for the openSUSE Tumbleweed operating system for June 2024. This release features the Linux Kernel 6.9.7, which includes key fixes and enhancements across various subsystems. Notable updates include PipeWire 1.2.0, introducing asynchronous processing and improved config parsing error reporting, and WirePlumber 0.5.4, refining role-based linking policies.

The update also brings Mesa and Mesa-drivers 24.1.2 with Rust crate dependencies and enhanced Vulkan support, KDE Plasma 6.1.1 with several UI improvements, Python-setuptools 70.0, and Xen 4.18.2_06. Additionally, packages like NetworkManager 1.48.2, ibus-table 1.17.6, btrfsprogs 6.9, and GNU Emacs 29.4 have been updated. Several fixes, addressing numerous bugs in Python, PHP, and other components, have also been made.

Critical security vulnerabilities have been addressed, including ongoing fixes related to the XZ backdoor, ensuring Tumbleweed remains secure, efficient, and feature-rich for all users.
