Apple unveils Immersive Video for Vision Pro users with new series, films and concerts

Apple has announced that Vision Pro users will now access immersive video series, films, concerts, documentaries, and more through Apple Immersive Video. This technology uses 3D video recorded in 8K with a 180-degree field of view and spatial audio to provide a highly engaging experience.

Among the new content, Vision Pro users can watch Boundless, a series offering virtual travel experiences, available now; Wild Life, a nature documentary premiering in August; and Elevated, an aerial travel series launching in September. Later this year, viewers can enjoy an immersive concert from The Weeknd, the scripted short film Submerged, behind-the-scenes access to the 2024 NBA All-Star Weekend, and Big-Wave Surfing, a new sports series from Red Bull.

To support professional filmmakers, Apple is collaborating with Blackmagic Design to introduce a new production workflow for Apple Immersive Video. This includes the new URSA Cine Immersive camera and updated versions of DaVinci Resolve Studio and Apple Compressor, set to be available later this year. This toolkit aims to expand the availability of immersive films and series for Vision Pro users globally.
