PlayStation 5 users can soon join Discord calls directly from their consoles
Today, Discord and PlayStation announced that PlayStation 5 users will soon be able to join Discord calls directly from their consoles, eliminating the need for a mobile app. This feature allows seamless communication with friends using the desktop app, mobile app, or other consoles.
To use this feature, ensure your PS5 is updated to the latest system software and that your PlayStation Network and Discord accounts are linked. Navigate to the Discord tab in Game Base within the PS5 Control Center, choose the desired Discord server or DM group, and select your preferred voice channel. You’ll see details such as current participants and receive notifications for incoming Discord calls.
The update will roll out gradually, starting with Japan and Asia, followed by Europe, Australia and New Zealand, the Middle East, and finally the Americas. Additionally, starting next week, PlayStation will also enable users to share their PlayStation Network profiles on any messaging or social app.
