Nuxt 3.12 released with enhanced performance, Nuxt Scripts, and layer auto-registration
Nuxt, the open-source Vue.js framework, has announced the release of version 3.12. This update introduces several significant improvements, including enhanced performance through module deduplication, which is particularly beneficial for layer users. The update also optimizes Vite dev server start-up times by excluding common ESM dependencies from pre-bundling and improves chunk determinism to ensure more consistent sequential builds.
Nuxt Scripts, currently in public preview, is nearing a public release, promising further enhancements to the development experience. Version 3.12 also features layer auto-registration, built-in accessibility improvements, multi-app support, and various stabilized features, type improvements, and bug fixes.
For module authors, this release brings a range of type improvements. Additionally, the team has hinted at the upcoming Nuxt 4, which is now available for early testing.
