Ente 0.9 brings video editing, enhanced security, and improved photo sharing features
Ente has rolled out version 0.9, its final release before the anticipated version 1.0. This update introduces a video editor to the mobile app, enabling users to trim, crop, and rotate videos offline. Following recent passkey and hardware key support, Ente now offers a more secure account management system.
A new feature enhances photo sharing by generating client-side previews for end-to-end encrypted album links, improving the sharing experience. Android users can now utilize homescreen widgets, and Ente now supports casting albums to big screens via Chromecast or a 6-digit pin, maintaining encryption.
The memories tab and search screen have been revamped for better rediscovery of old photos, offline search capabilities now include finding photos taken in popular cities, while ensuring data privacy, and users can also easily identify files consuming the most storage. Additional improvements include organizing shared photos, new Material You components, a dedicated space-freeing section, and more.
