Opera now available for ARM-native Windows PCs, promises improved speed and efficiency
Opera today revealed that its web browser is now optimized for ARM-powered Windows PCs. According to the company, the latest build of Opera runs at over double the speed on this new generation of computers. This enhancement has been made possible through the support of Microsoft’s App Assure team and Qualcomm Technologies.
Opera, in its announcement, emphasized that ARM processors are not solely about speed, but also efficiency. They stated that users of a Windows ARM-powered machine would enjoy significantly improved battery life. This, coupled with Opera's battery saver, is expected to significantly increase browsing time on a single charge.
The ARM-native version of Opera is available in the developer stream of the browser, and can be downloaded from an ARM-powered Windows device.
