OpenAI unveils GPT-4o 'omni' with enhanced speed and multimodal capabilities for ChatGPT

OpenAI has unveiled their latest model, GPT-4o “omni”, during a live stream presentation. This new model offers GPT-4-level intelligence, but with enhanced speed and improved capabilities that span text, voice, and vision.

The roll-out of GPT-4o has begun for ChatGPT Plus and Team users, with OpenAI planning to extend availability to Enterprise users in the near future. The company has also initiated the roll-out to ChatGPT Free users, although usage limits apply.

The introduction of GPT-4o to ChatGPT Free provides users with access to a range of advanced features. These include GPT-4 level intelligence, the ability to generate responses from both the model and the web, data analysis and chart creation capabilities, and the option to chat about photos. Users can also upload files for assistance with summarizing, writing or analyzing.

ChatGPT Plus users will benefit from an increased message limit, which is up to five times greater than that of free users. Team and Enterprise users will receive even higher limits. Furthermore, ChatGPT now supports over 50 languages across various functions including sign-up, login, and user settings.
