GIMP 2.10.38 released with GTK3 backport and enhanced tablet support for Windows users

The popular free and open-source image editing software, GIMP, has released its latest 2.10 stable version, GIMP 2.10.38, with substantial backports from GTK3.

This update notably improves tablet support for Windows users, a feature previously limited to WinTab drivers. The new release, thanks to contributor Luca Bacci, includes backported Windows Ink driver support to GTK2, allowing users to switch between WinTab and Windows Ink drivers in the software's preferences.

The update also includes other backported GTK3 features to GTK2, such as an adjustment to the Print Dialog size for better visibility and fixes to keyboard input and pop-up dialog issues. These enhancements, primarily for Windows users, were initially introduced in the 2.99 development release and are now part of the stable version. The update also addresses two common crashes and several minor bugs, ensuring a more stable and reliable user experience.
