Forgejo v7.0 Released with New Features and Long-Term Support

Forgejo has announced the release of its v7.0 on April 23. This major update introduces several new features, including translations in Bulgarian, Esperanto, Filipino, and Slovenian. Additionally, it now supports SourceHut builds integration and the SHA-256 hash function in Git.

One of the standout features in this release is the inclusion of source code search by default, enhancing the usability for developers. This version marks the first Long Term Support (LTS) release for Forgejo, with updates guaranteed until July 2025.

The version number has jumped from v1.21 to v7.0 due to the adoption of semantic versioning, ensuring compatibility with existing tools while signaling the significant changes and improvements made.
