Discord can now initiate an activity within text channels and ask @everyone with polls

Discord has implemented a series of updates to improve user experience. The updates, launched yesterday, include several new features and enhancements.

One of the notable features is the ability to initiate an activity within text channels in servers. Desktop users can activate this by clicking the “+” button in text channels, while mobile users have a new dedicated button. Additionally, a new “Shapes” button is available for mobile users, providing easy access to all apps. This is described by the company as a “one-stop-shop for all your Apps and Activities, right on your mobile chat bar”.

Other updates include the ability to ask what @everyone thinks with polls, allowing users to gather collective responses. Desktop users can now see mutual servers and friends when viewing pop-up profiles. Technical improvements include fixing the issue of Bluetooth devices not connecting properly during a call, increasing the resource efficiency of the mobile app, the addition of a new permission for creating polls, and resolving several crash issues on Android.
