Discord brings back unified view to mobile, and improves search and accessibility features
Discord, the popular communication platform, continues to refine its mobile app following a major redesign six months ago. The previous update brought faster launch times, a new Midnight theme, and an enhanced user interface. Yesterday, Discord announced further improvements based on user feedback.
Key changes include the reintegration of servers and direct messages into a single view, allowing users to see ongoing DMs while browsing server channels. In addition, Discord has introduced in-line prompts for common filters during message searches, and has improved the display of message authors in search results.
Accessibility settings have also been expanded with the addition of a contrast slider, complementing the existing saturation slider from the desktop version. These sliders adjust not only the theme but also elements like button colors and notification dots, enhancing visual customization.
Performance improvements are also part of this update, with reduced load times on lower-memory devices and overall better global performance. These updates reflect Discord's ongoing commitment to optimizing user experience on mobile platforms.
