Tinder launches 'Share My Date', allowing users to share date plans for enhanced safety
Tinder, the widely-used dating app, has unveiled a new safety feature named Share My Date. This feature allows users to share their date plans directly with friends and family from within the app. Tinder's announcement highlights that 51% of singles under 30 already share their date details with friends, and according to in-app polling data, 18% share their plans with their mother.
The Share My Date feature is designed to be used by friends, family, and peers. Users can share a link containing details of their date, including location, date, time, and a photo of their match. Users have the flexibility to choose who they share their date details with and can create an unlimited number of date plans within the app, up to 30 days in advance.
The feature also allows the editing of date plans, providing users with the ability to update their plans if they change at the last minute.
Tinder plans to roll out Share My Date in the US, UK, Australia, Canada, Singapore, India, Ireland, Germany, France, Spain, Japan, Brazil, Switzerland, Mexico, Netherlands, Italy, Korea, Vietnam, and Thailand in the upcoming months.
