Shotcut 24.04 has been released with Ambisonic Encoder filter and other enhancements

Shotcut, the open source and cross-platform video editor, has announced the release of its latest version, 24.04. This update introduces several new features and improvements to enhance the editing experience.

Notable additions include an Ambisonic Encoder audio filter, which is now accompanied by an on-video control for the Ambisonic Decoder audio filter. Users can also benefit from new audio visualization tools, such as Audio Vector and Audio Surround scopes, accessible under the View Scopes menu.

The new version also introduces a Time Format setting, which affects the display and editability of time code throughout the application. Additionally, Shotcut 24.04 includes Undo and Redo support for keyframe adjustments in various filters, such as fade in/out audio, gain, and color grading.

Other enhancements include the Apply Copied Filters to Timeline feature, which can be accessed via the Edit menu or context menu when selecting multiple clips. Furthermore, the MLT library has been upgraded to version 7.24.0, and several bug fixes have been implemented to improve the overall stability.
