OpenRazer 3.8 expands device support and brings numerous improvements for Linux users

OpenRazer, the open-source driver and daemon enabling Linux users to control Razer device lighting and other features, has unveiled its 3.8 version.

This latest release expands device support, including the Razer Cobra, the Razer Basilisk V3 X HyperSpeed, the Razer Cobra Pro (Wired), the Razer Blade 15 Advanced (Late 2019), the Razer BlackWidow V4, and the Razer Ornata V3. These additions extend the already extensive list of supported devices, encompassing keyboards, mice, mouse mats, keypads, headphones, and more.

The 3.8 version also brings several improvements and fixes. It removes timestamps from man pages and fixes effects on the Naga Epic Chroma. For the Basilisk V3, it removes the “None” effect and corrects DPI_MAX for the Pro version.

In the driver, functions are now marked as static where appropriate. Warning messages for matrix_effect_blinking in the razermouse driver have been addressed, and low threshold support for the DeathAdder V3 Pro has been fixed. Furthermore, the 3.8 version introduces 8000 Hz polling rate support for the HyperPolling Wireless Dongle.
