NVIDIA acquires Kubernetes-based workload management software provider Run:ai for $700M
NVIDIA has announced it has officially entered a definitive agreement to acquire Run:ai, a software provider that specializes in Kubernetes-based workload management and orchestration. Run:ai's platform empowers enterprise clients to manage and optimize their compute infrastructure, regardless of whether it's on-premises, in the cloud, or a hybrid environment.
Run:ai has developed an open platform based on Kubernetes, which is the orchestration layer for modern AI and cloud infrastructure. This platform supports all popular Kubernetes variants and seamlessly integrates with third-party AI tools and frameworks.
While the exact financial details of the acquisition remain undisclosed, estimates place the deal's value at approximately $700 million. “Run:ai has been a close collaborator with NVIDIA since 2020 and we share a passion for helping our customers make the most of their infrastructure,” said Omri Geller, Run:ai cofounder and CEO. “We’re thrilled to join NVIDIA and look forward to continuing our journey together.”
Following the acquisition, NVIDIA plans to maintain the existing business model for Run:ai's products. The company also plans to continue investing in the Run:ai product roadmap, including integration with NVIDIA DGX Cloud.
Customers of NVIDIA HGX, DGX, and DGX Cloud will benefit from Run:ai’s capabilities for their AI workloads, especially for large language model deployments. Run:ai’s solutions are already integrated with a range of NVIDIA products including NVIDIA DGX, NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD, NVIDIA Base Command, NGC containers, and NVIDIA AI Enterprise software.
Both NVIDIA’s accelerated computing platform and Run:ai’s platform will continue to support a wide ecosystem of third-party solutions, providing customers with a variety of choices and flexibility.
