Distrobox 1.7 released with new flags and improved NVIDIA and Wolfi container support

Distrobox, a utility that enables the use of any Linux distribution within the terminal, has announced the release of version 1.7. This new version is characterized by several enhancements and new features.

The update brings improved login shell management and enhanced systemd support for initful containers. Distrobox 1.7 also shows marked improvements in NVIDIA support, Wolfi container support, rootful containers support for exported graphical apps, and terminfo support.

The 1.7 release introduces several new flags, including --enter-flags to distrobox-export, enabling users to specify additional Distrobox flags for entry. The --hostname flag has been added to distrobox-create, allowing users to select a different hostname than the box name. The --unshare-groups flag has also been incorporated into distrobox-create to facilitate unsharing of the user's additional groups within the container.

In addition to these new features, version 1.7 addresses multiple bins and apps exports declaration in assemble, with numerous other changes and bug fixes also included in the update.

However, users should take note that this release may disrupt exported apps and binaries.
