Czkawka 7.0 unveils new 'Krokiet' GUI, performance improvements, and more
Czkawka, the widely used application for discovering duplicate files, empty folders, and similar images, has unveiled its 7.0 version. This latest version introduces Krokiet, a brand new graphical user interface (GUI) in Slint, along with performance enhancements and several new features.
The standout feature of this release is the Krokiet GUI, entirely rewritten, which uses the Slint library instead of GTK. Both Czkawka and Slint are written in the Rust programming language, marking a significant departure from the existing interface. However, the Krokiet GUI is still under development, and there are various aspects, such as the logo, icons, and other elements, that are due for enhancement.
In addition to the usual bug fixes and improvements, Czkawka 7.0 also delivers performance upgrades. The update includes a range of minor changes such as support for dragging folders for scanning, the introduction of a progress bar in the command-line interface (CLI), among other additions. You can find the full list of changes in the announcement post.
