Zulip unveils new mobile app in beta with multi-account support and enhanced performance
Zulip has announced the beta release of its next-generation mobile app for both Android and iOS platforms. Built using Flutter, the new app offers a redesigned interface and improved performance compared to the previous version, which was developed with React Native. This update aligns the mobile app's design with changes made to Zulip's web and desktop applications in recent years.
One of the standout features of the new app is its full multi-account support, allowing users to stay connected to multiple Zulip servers simultaneously and switch between them without waiting for data to load. The app supports all Zulip Server versions from 7.0 onwards, including the upcoming version 10.0, and accommodates nearly all of Zulip's message-formatting functionalities.
Performance enhancements make the app significantly faster and more responsive, capable of handling thousands of messages smoothly, assuming a stable network connection. Users can install this beta version alongside the existing Zulip mobile app, enabling comparison and feedback. The full rollout is anticipated for early next year, once the beta phase concludes.
