Sidebar, a customizable dock replacement for Mac, has rolled out version 1.7, introducing a range of enhancements and bug fixes. The update features a complete redesign of the settings interface, offering a modern aesthetic with simplified options. Users can now choose from multiple base themes and easily copy or reset style settings across screens. Notification badges have been improved for size adjustment and shape adaptation based on notification count. Dynamic sizing now respects alignment, and auto-hiding is customizable per screen.
New customization options for animations have been added, alongside a drag & drop feature for sorting application windows. Running indicators are now more reliable, and truncated applications now benefit from a dynamically sized view. A new line spacer has been introduced, and a lock/unlock setting for Sidebar is available. With this update, Sidebar will occasionally display hints to guide users through its features, with options to disable or reset these hints.
