Fortnite launches new first-person 5v5 competitive Ballistic mode in early access

Fortnite has unveiled Ballistic, a new 5v5 competitive game mode that launched in early access yesterday. This round-based, first-person mode offers both Ranked and Unranked play, debuting with the Skyline 10 map, a selection of weapons, and limited items. Epic Games plans to refine Ballistic through player feedback, with future updates introducing new maps, weapons, and features.

Ballistic is a no-build mode, and players can carry over all saved Locker presets. It supports existing Fortnite cosmetics such as Outfits, Back Blings, Kicks, Wraps, Sprays, and Emotes, though Pickaxes, Contrails, Instruments, Vehicles, and Jam Tracks are not included. The gameplay involves two teams: attackers and defenders. Attackers aim to plant a Rift Point Device, while defenders work to prevent its deployment. The absence of respawns means rounds end when the device explodes or a team is eliminated.

Currently, Ballistic is accessible on all Fortnite-supported platforms and regions, except South Korea and Russia. Epic Games is working on expanding availability to these regions and will announce updates when available.
