Xbox phasing out modern Avatar Editor in 2025

Microsoft has announced the discontinuation of the Xbox Avatar Editor on January 9, 2025, citing low program engagement. All modern avatars and purchased items tied to the app will be removed, with refunds provided for purchases made from November 1, 2023, onwards. However, the Xbox Original Avatars app, dating back to 2008, will still be supported on the Xbox 360 and certain games.
