Telegram's latest update enhances video quality, speed controls and PiP for large channels
Telegram has released an update enhancing video performance and quality for users. For videos uploaded to large channels, the video player now automatically adjusts the quality based on the user's internet connection, offering options for high, medium, or low quality. This ensures efficient data usage and faster loading times, with users on weaker connections receiving more compressed videos, while those with high-speed Internet can access full resolution.
iOS users benefit from easier access to Picture-in-Picture mode. The update also introduces new gesture controls for video playback speed, allowing users to speed up videos to 2.5x by holding and sliding on the video. Additionally, users can now edit messages to add media without deleting and resending, with edited messages displaying a timestamp of the last edit.
Group and channel owners can utilize #hashtag@username for chat-specific hashtags, and a special menu for public chats simplifies adding usernames to hashtags. Bots and mini apps can now engage in revenue sharing from Telegram Ads, and all bots can send up to 30 messages per second for free. Enhanced message limits allow larger services to send up to 1000 messages per second. These updates are currently available for channels with thousands of subscribers.
