Proton integrates Proton Pass Plus with SimpleLogin Premium for enhanced privacy
Proton has announced a strategic integration of its Proton Pass Plus plan with the SimpleLogin Premium plan, following its acquisition of SimpleLogin in April 2022. This merger aims to enhance user privacy and online identity protection by combining the features of both services into a single subscription.
Proton Pass Plus users will now gain access to SimpleLogin's advanced alias features, including the use of custom domains for aliases, additional mailboxes, and the capability to send emails from aliases. Conversely, SimpleLogin Premium users will benefit from Proton Pass Plus features such as convenient password autofill, autosave, autosuggest, vault sharing, secure link sharing, a built-in 2FA authenticator, and dark web monitoring that constantly checks for data breaches.
Previously separate, the integration means a Pass Plus subscription now encompasses SimpleLogin Premium, and vice versa, streamlining the user experience. Proton Pass Plus subscribers will be able to access SimpleLogin via their Proton account, offering a more unified approach. While users currently need to switch between Proton Pass and SimpleLogin for certain features, future updates promise to integrate these functionalities directly into Proton Pass.
