ElevenReader, developed by ElevenLabs, now enables users to create personalized podcasts from various text sources, including PDFs, articles, e-books, and links. This functionality is available in 32 languages through the ElevenReader iOS app.
The platform leverages ElevenLabs' AI audio models to generate engaging GenFM podcasts, featuring discussions by AI co-hosts on topics like books, research papers, and class notes. Users can select from a variety of lifelike AI voices to produce episodes.
An example podcast created with GenFM is available for demonstration. Additionally, ElevenLabs has announced that Android support will be introduced in the coming weeks.

I'm not against if it can help people to listen what they never take the time to read, but just as what Google has announced few months back, theses AI-generated presenter reactions are just lifeless and tones are so monotonic. Not that this should yell every ten seconds but it really fells like listening a boring history teacher speaking to in a bored classroom where we're locked for the last four hours. This is not engaging nor peaceful. This is plain frustrating to loose time listening machines keep talking when they don't even listen themselves.
You make a great point—AI-generated voices often lack emotion and can feel dull, making it hard to stay engaged. Improving their tone and expressiveness could make a big difference!
This is absolutely dystopian
