Unity 6 released with advanced graphics, multiplayer workflows, faster rendering, and more
Unity has officially released Unity 6, marking the next generation of its renowned engine for creating real-time 3D games, apps, and experiences. Previously known as Unity 2023 LTS, Unity 6 introduces a host of new tools and features designed to enhance development and performance.
Key advancements include end-to-end multiplayer workflows, which streamline the creation of connected games, and tools that facilitate targeting mobile web platforms. Additionally, new graphics features such as the GPU Resident Drawer and Render Graph for the Universal Render Pipeline (URP) aim to shift workloads from the CPU to the GPU, resulting in improved CPU performance by up to four times.
The release also promises faster rendering, advanced lighting options, seamless multiplayer workflows, enhanced AI capabilities, and better support for mobile web runtimes. Unity 6's updated release approach focuses on continuous performance and stability improvements, making upgrades less disruptive for developers.
