Tails 6.9 has been released with Tor and Thunderbird updates, and automatic upgrade fixes

Tails, the open-source portable operating system renowned for safeguarding against surveillance and censorship, has released version 6.9, following closely on the heels of version 6.8.

This update introduces several software updates, notably Tor Browser 14.0.1, the Tor client upgraded to 0.4.8.13, and Thunderbird updated to 115.16.0. A significant fix in this release addresses a recurring issue where automatic upgrades would abort with the error message “The upgrade could not be downloaded,” despite a successful download.

Tails 6.9 also includes other minor enhancements and bug fixes. Users can update to Tails 6.9 now.
