Files 3.7.11 update brings bulk file renaming, improved dialogs, and several bug fixes

Files, the powerful file manager for Windows, has rolled out its latest update, version 3.7.11. This update introduces a multi-item renaming feature, allowing users to rename several files or folders at once. When multiple items are selected and renamed, a prompt appears for the new name, and duplicate file types automatically receive a numerical suffix.

The update also enhances the Create New Item dialog by showing the type of item being created, such as a folder, providing clearer context. Users can access this by clicking the New button on the toolbar. For debugging purposes, Files 3.7.11 now allows users to copy their user ID from the About page. This ID is generated at installation and assists in locating crash reports in Sentry.

Additional improvements include reduced minimum window dimensions, support for typing custom icon paths in the properties window, and the addition of the Files icon to the process on Windows. Several bugs have also been addressed in this release.

I used to use files, it looked great with Mica for everyone. But it also felt capped at 30 fps. Not sluggish, but not quick either...
