TuneFab suffers major Data Breach, over 280GB of user data leaked
TuneFab, a copyrighted audio converter company known for developing software like TuneFab Spotify Music Converter, recently suffered a major data breach. Cybersecurity researcher Bob Diachenko discovered it, revealing that over 280GB of user data were leaked in September 2023. The compromised data includes 151 million records of users’ IP addresses, userArea, userIDs, emails, and device information.
The data leak was caused by a misconfiguration on MongoDB, a document-oriented database platform, leaving TuneFab's data unprotected and accessible to the public.
TuneFab managed to secure the leak within 24 hours of its discovery. However, Diachenko warns that the leaked data could potentially be misused, leading to identity theft and other forms of data exploitation. Users are urged to remain alert and monitor their online activities for any signs of unauthorized access or suspicious behavior.
