Amazon Drive shut down at the end of 2023, files are moved to Amazon Photos
The Amazon Drive cloud storage platform has officially been sunset as of December 31, 2023, as previously announced in November 2022. The Drive apps have already been removed from both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
In a shift of focus, Amazon has migrated all files from Amazon Drive to Amazon Photos , a similar cloud storage service that supports only photo and video content uploads.
Existing Amazon Prime members benefit from free, unlimited full-resolution photo storage, along with 5GB of video storage. Non-Prime members receive 5GB of free storage for both photos and video content.
For users requiring more space, Amazon Photos offers various paid plans with options ranging from 100 GB to 30 TB.
Our take: There are a lot of noteworthy alternatives to Amazon Drive and Photos, with some of them still offering unlimited cloud storage, abandoned by Amazon some time ago. Among them, you can give a try to Box , Sync.com and BackBlaze .
