Evernote introduces AI-Powered Search for quicker and more accurate note retrieval
Evernote, the well-known note-taking application, has revealed a new feature: AI-Powered Search. This tool is designed to streamline the search process, allowing users to extract information from their notes rapidly and accurately using natural language queries.
AI-Powered Search can be activated by simply typing a question into the search bar, much like you would ask a friend. The system will then extract the relevant information from your notes in mere seconds. The tool can also be used to filter notes. When a query is entered, Evernote will identify and utilize the optimal keywords to deliver the desired results.
The AI-Powered Search tool is capable of processing all types of note content, including PDFs, Word documents, and images containing text. If a direct question is asked, the tool will provide a precise answer from the most pertinent note or notes, and display the references used to generate the answer. If a filter request is entered, the tool will display all notes that align with the given parameters. Evernote has emphasized that the utility of the AI-Powered Search tool will increase as more information is stored within the application.
Evernote has also addressed privacy concerns, stating that all user data remains confidential. The data is deleted within 30 days, only the most relevant notes are processed, and the data is not used to train Evernote or any third-party AI models. Evernote adds that “using AI-Powered Search once doesn’t mean you’re granting carte blanche permission to process your data forever. Each usage is considered an independent event—meaning every time you want to run an AI-powered search query, we’ll ask for your permission to process that specific query, and nothing else”.
