Blackmagic Design launches new iOS camera app with advanced collaboration features

Blackmagic Design, known for its video editing software DaVinci Resolve and Fusion Studio, has launched a new iOS camera app, Blackmagic Camera. This app brings digital film camera controls, similar to those in Blackmagic Design's digital film cameras, to the Apple iPhone.

In addition, Blackmagic Camera offers support for Blackmagic Cloud, enabling creators to share and collaborate on media with multiple editors and colorists globally. Users can modify settings such as frame rate, shutter angle, white balance, and ISO with a single tap, and record directly to Blackmagic Cloud in industry standard 10-bit Apple ProRes files up to 4K.

The app also facilitates collaboration on DaVinci Resolve projects via Blackmagic Cloud Storage, allowing multiple editors to work concurrently from any location. Blackmagic Camera has a built-in chat workspace for Blackmagic Cloud project members to discuss shots and share creative concepts without exiting the app.

Furthermore, the app allows media synchronization from Blackmagic Camera directly into a DaVinci Resolve project, preparing users for editing and color grading. Blackmagic Camera is currently available as a free download from the Apple App Store.
