Wine 8.14 launches with enhanced Smart Card compatibility, Windows Registry file analysis and 30 Bug Fixes for improved performance

Wine, the open-source compatibility layer, has has launched its latest development version, 8.14, featuring numerous changes and enhancements. Key updates include the integration of the PCSC framework from macOS for smart card compatibility, and the ability to extract and analyze data from Windows registry files within WineDump. These updates, along with fixes for Wow64 window messages, increase the software's functionality, compatibility, and stability.

In addition to these changes, the new release also includes fixes for 30 bugs improving the software's performance and dependability across various games and applications like DiRT 2 Demo, Candytron Demo, The Settlers II: 10th Anniversary, Civilization 6, Freelancer with the Crossfire mod, Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, Warframe, Steam client, Yuzu, and more.
