Valve rolls out a new Steam client update with new timer, sorting feature and enhanced controller support
Valve has released a significant update for the Steam client on desktop and Steam Deck, introducing new features and fixing various bugs. A new timer for the Steam overlay has been added in this update, allowing users to keep track of their gaming duration. However, currently, it serves as a countdown timer and does not function as a stopwatch for timing speedruns. Additionally, a new sorting option allows users to organize their games by the date added.
The new sorting feature is expected to work well with Valve's Dynamic Collections tool, making it easier for users to find games they've purchased but rarely played, and determine when they were added to their collection. The update also enhances controller support and Steam Input functionality, with PlayStation Controller users now able to use touchpad typing on the on-screen keyboard.
