Thunderbird Sync feature postponed to 2024, development is switching to a monthly release schedule

The release of Thunderbird 115 with the new Supernova user interface in early July brought excitement for the arrival of Thunderbird Sync, a highly anticipated feature designed to enhance the synchronization capabilities of the popular email client.

Unfortunately, the Thunderbird team has announced a postponement of the Sync feature: it plans to introduce the functionality in the next Thunderbird ESR release, which is scheduled to be launched in 2024. In the meantime, the development is switching to a monthly release schedule to improve the software's overall quality and reliability.

The team recognizes the importance of this feature to users, so it will dedicate several months to rigorous testing to ensure its security and reliability.
