Snapchat introduces 'Dreams' feature to transform your selfies into imaginative characters with Generative AI

Snapchat has unveiled a new feature named Dreams, powered by Generative AI, which enables users to create imaginative images, transforming their identities into various characters such as deep-sea mermaids or renaissance royals. Users can use their own faces to generate up to eight AI selfies, and the upcoming version of Dreams will accommodate users and any friend who has also opted in.

To use Dreams, users need to navigate to the Memories section and locate the new Dreams tab. After taking a few selfies, a personalized Generative AI model is created, allowing users to explore their Dreams. The first eight Dreams are offered free of charge, with additional ones available via in-app purchase.

Initially, the feature is being rolled out in Australia and New Zealand, with a global launch anticipated in the coming weeks.
