Proton introduces Proton Sentinel security program for High-Risk users

Proton, the company of Proton Mail and Proton VPN, has introduced a new security program, Proton Sentinel, designed for users at higher risk of cyberattacks, such as journalists, activists, and executives.

The program combines AI with human analysis to counter security threats, providing extra security measures like rigorous checks for dubious login attempts, increased transparency on account changes, and 24/7 monitoring of suspicious login attempts. However, accounts shared by multiple users without two-factor authentication may encounter difficulties during logins due to the increased security measures.

Despite its advanced AI detection capabilities, Proton Sentinel encourages users to remain vigilant about their own security, offering self-monitoring tools such as security alerts and enhanced logs.

To activate Proton Sentinel, users can go to account.proton.me and turn on the feature in the Security and Privacy settings. The program is available to all Unlimited, Family, and Business subscribers as part of Proton's extensive privacy ecosystem.
