Gboard Beta 13.3 unveils new features: Stylus Handwriting Mode, Compact Voice Typing UI and AI-Powered Proofreading and Stickers

The latest beta version of Gboard, 13.3, is developing new features like a stylus handwriting mode, a compact voice typing UI, and generative AI tools. The handwriting mode allows users to write in any field and have it automatically converted to text, delete text by scratching it, insert text at specific points, join words, and select text. The Assistant voice typing feature lets users speak and type at the same time.

The most notable feature is "Proofread with Gboard", which uses generative AI to help users correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors with just a tap. However, users should note that their text, feedback, and interactions with this tool will be stored on Google servers for 60 days for enhancement purposes. The generative AI is also utilized for "Emogen," a feature that allows users to create emoji-like stickers. Additionally, a third AI tool similar to the "Help me write" feature in Gmail and Google Docs, helps modify the formality of the text.
