Apple retires classic iTunes Movie Trailers app, its functions will be integrated into the Apple TV application

Apple is phasing out its classic iTunes Movie Trailers app, first introduced in October 2011, together with the launch of iCloud and iOS 5. The app was a hub for users to discover upcoming movies, compare Rotten Tomato ratings, and even buy tickets and check showtimes.

Now, when users open the app, they see a banner indicating that the "Apple TV app is the new home of iTunes Movie Trailers." There, the new "Movie & TV Trailers" section offers around 30 trailers for current and upcoming films, but doesn't provide the extensive range as the original app.

The iTunes Movie Trailers application has not received any updates since 2017, causing some features to become non-functional over time.
