Peppermint OS announces new release: first Linux Distro based on Debian 12
Peppermint OS has recently announced a new release of its lightweight operating system, making it the first Linux distro to be based on Debian 12.
This new version brings significant updates and improvements, including the Linux 6.1 kernel and the latest Xfce 4.18 release, with better performance and bug fixes. The branding has also been updated, with a new theme for the boot screen Plymouth.
Peppermint Hub, in response to user feedback, has received updates to optimize workflow efficiency. The graphical user interface of Kumo, the integrated site-specific web browsing tool, has been simplified and the component has been rebuilt using the Lua programming language to boost overall performance.
The installation process has been streamlined by removing the package installation module from the Calamares installer. Finally, Peppermint Docs, the documentation for Peppermint OS, has been updated to provide users with the latest information and resources.
