Mozilla unveils Thunderbird 115 with anticipated Supernova user interface and enhanced features
After teasing it for months, Mozilla has officially launched Thunderbird 115, featuring the much-anticipated Supernova user interface (UI). The previous UI of Thunderbird was perceived as complex and dated, prompting this substantial update. The Supernova UI introduces a 3-pane window with modernized folder, message list, and message display panes. It also incorporates an updated quick filter, calendar, and address book with a new vertical view and unified toolbar.
The Thunderbird 115 release brings a host of design improvements, including new iconography, easy density control, an intuitive app menu, new folder modes, and a visually appealing tags view among others. Notably, the Supernova update also significantly enhances keyboard navigation and screen reader accessibility throughout the application.
Mozilla has indicated that the Supernova UI is a work in progress and will continue to evolve. Over the next year, the company plans to deliver numerous enhancements to the existing Supernova features and roll out entirely new ones.

Downloaded and updated the old Thunderbird without an issue. Looks very good.
Same for me: I had no trouble updating manually! It's still not the most modern email client out there, but they're working hard to get back in the game!
