Element Call Beta 3 released: Supports 100 participants but temporarily suspends end-to-end encryption

Element, the secure communication platform offering text, voice, and video chat, has announced the release of beta 3 for their Matrix-based VoIP product, Element Call. This significant update allows Element Call to support calls with up to 100 participants, a substantial increase from the previous limit of 7–10 participants.

However, it's crucial to mention that the latest release of Element Call is temporarily not end-to-end encrypted, despite LiveKit supporting this feature. This is due to the encryption not yet being integrated with Matrix. Element is actively working to rectify this and expects to reintroduce end-to-end encryption in a second update by the end of July.

In addition to increased call capacity, the beta 3 update brings several other enhancements. These include user interface improvements and client integrations, among other features, further enhancing the functionality of the Element Call platform.
