Opera One has been released: A new browser with native AI, modular design and tab islands
A couple of months after announcing it, Opera Software has just released its latest version of the Opera web browser, Opera One, which features the company's first-ever native AI. The browser is available for Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems.
The browser's AI, called Aria, is based on GPT technology and provides users with free access to up-to-date information from the web. The AI also features a new command line, which can be accessed by hitting CTRL+/ (in Windows) or cmd+/ (in Mac). The command line allows users to interact with Aria and access its features.
Opera One's new modular design is aimed at providing a browsing experience that “molds itself to your needs”. The design focuses on bringing key features forward and adjusting them based on users' context, delivering a fluid and easy browsing experience to the user.
The browser also features a new tab management system called Tab Islands, which groups related tabs together based on context. This feature allows users to gain flexibility in interacting with their tabs and helps them find what they need quickly.
Opera One is the 100th version of Opera and the latest iteration of the popular web browser. The company has been working on the browser for several months, and users can expect to see improvements in speed, performance, and security. Opera One is available for download now from Opera's official website.
Our take: This is a big update for Opera, and it might attract some new users to the web browser. We'll see how Aria and Tab Islands are used by the users, and if the company keeps going in this direction.
