Amazon launches in-game store Amazon Anywhere, selling physical products in games and apps
Amazon has once again expanded its business ventures with the launch of its latest idea, Amazon Anywhere . While it may sound like a new app or service for making purchases wherever you are, it is actually a new in-game store. Amazon Anywhere, unlike other in-game stores, sells physical goods and it’s powered by Amazon and offers the same shopping experience and benefits.
The first Amazon Anywhere store has launched in Niantic's latest game Peridot , which is available for iOS and Android and is created by the makers of the popular game, Pokémon Go. Peridot is a real-world augmented reality game featuring unique virtual pets powered by artificial intelligence. To use Amazon Anywhere, users must link their Amazon account to Peridot, after which they can buy Peridot-branded merchandise and products, including t-shirts, hoodies, phone accessories, and even "throw pillows featuring artwork of magical creatures from the game" within the game.

Amazon believes that Anywhere will help them meet their customers where they are and with the products they love. The new store expands what companies may sell to their customers in their games and apps, and it is open to websites and the metaverse, as well as an "other" category. Game and app creators who are interested in using Amazon Anywhere must contact the company to get started. However, Amazon has not yet revealed any information on costs and fees, or how easy it is to integrate the store into existing products.
