Roblox intentionally blocking Linux users that use Wine or a virtual machine

Roblox, the popular game platform and game creation system, has been intentionally blocking Linux users who use Wine or a virtual machine to run the program. The company recently updated its 64-bit Byfron client to forbid Linux users from using it.

In response to the issue, a staff member on the Roblox forum stated that the company is currently gathering telemetry to analyze and hopefully fix existing issues and prevent future ones from popping up. "For this process to work, it is of utmost importance to collect data from the intended target operating system. You will also find that we blocked the usage of VMs for the very same reason."

The reason behind this decision is that Roblox wants to gather data from Windows users only, which explains why they are blocking Linux users using Wine or virtual machines.

This decision has sparked frustration among Linux users who have been avid fans of Roblox. While the block is currently in place, it is hoped that it will only be temporary, and that Linux users will be able to enjoy Roblox again in the near future. In the meantime, the company has assured its users that they are working to address the issue and find a solution that will benefit all users.
