QEMU 8.0: new features and improvements, but support for 32-bit x86 Host deprecated

The latest version of QEMU, version 8.0, has been released as a stable processor emulator for open-source Linux virtualization.

Among the new features and improvements are support for Xen guests under KVM when running on the Linux 5.12 kernel or newer, and the addition of new ARM emulated CPU types. QEMU 8.0 also supports a number of new extensions on RISC-V, and adds a new CPU model for Intel Sapphire Rapids.

However, system emulation on 32-bit x86 hosts has been deprecated due to it being deemed no longer effective. Additionally, the "-accel hax" option has been deprecated due to Intel HAXM being retired.
